Weinrib & Connor Wins Nine Medals in Local Competition.
White Plains, NY, October 25, 2005. Weinrib & Connor, Inc. walked
away with nine awards from the Ad Club of Westchester's annual gala
and "Big W Awards" ceremony last night. This was the greatest number
of awards representing the most diverse base of clients (5).
In its first year of entering this suburban contest, the White Plains-based
advertising agency raked in three gold medals, three silver medals,
and three Bronze Medals. The agency submitted work for 10 categories
in all media.
The agency's gold medals were awarded for its radio campaign and website
for The Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation and for its direct
mail business-to-business campaign for 900 King Street Partners. Silver
medals were collected for a radio spot for Atlantic Tomorrow's Office,
a press conference held at Yankee Stadium for the B.O.E.D.C., and a
self-promotional free-standing newspaper insert. Bronze medals received
included a film for The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Westchester
County, a print advertisement for Exxon Avitat, and transit posters
for the B.O.E.D.C.
Agency President Tom Connor moved Weinrib & Connor, Inc. to Westchester
from its office on Park Avenue seven years ago. The agency was just
five years old at the time, and has been expanding with every passing
year.
The self-promotional piece for which the agency was awarded a silver
medal was a Halloween newspaper insert, headlined "Boo! Weinrib &
Connor, Inc. In our 12th year of frightening ad agencies in Westchester.
What are you afraid of?"
"We had beaten the mighty Y & R and Leo Burnett in creative shootouts
before," Connor said. "Our clients hire us to win on the street everyday
with increased sales and greater return on investment for their marketing
budget. It's nice to be recognized by our local peers, but itŐs our
clients who 'bought' these winning ideas that deserve the credit."
